About
The Swift Club Singapore Alumni Decal

Year
Feb 2010

eXpressions
As some of the Swift Club members "graduated" and changed their rides, no doubt some of our still think back of the time we've through thick and thin with the swift. So some of the members suggested doing a Alumni "Decal" to identify us previous swift owner and Swift Club member.

This design is my submission. Not sure if it'll get chosen.

Katoots Kat.E

Tools
Sketched only

About
A proposed character called Kat.E of a now defunct Toy Collectors Forum "Katoots".

Year

2008

eXpressions
I was once deeply involved in a Toy Collectors Forum called "Katoots", Designed tonnes of characters and items for the forum to flourish. But sadly, a things come to an end.

Now I have some resentments for the Katoots founders, for some reasons I felt the management "played everyone out" and shut the forum out some to some mismanagement. Thinking back the whole episode is so immature. Anyway that's a rant for another time.

As much as I try to forget Katoots, I cannot bare to forget the creations I did. It's after all my hard work. If noone appreciates it fine, at least I do appreciate my own stuff instead of going into self-destruct mode and close the blog.

This "Kat.E" character is suppose to be some moderator robot for Katoots.

Kat.E is NOT copyright of Katoots. The character belongs to me.

Swift Club Singapore Polo Tee

Tools
Drawn and Inked, Scanned at 300DPI, Digitally painted with Photoshop 6.0 with Wacom Graphire

About
The Official Polo-Tee shirt for Swift Club Singapore.

eXpressions
The Swift Club Singapore is an online forum where owners of Suzuki Swift meets. End 2006 is the time and forum boomed and the club owners feels that we should design a Polo-tee where everyone can relate to the faternity.

As the forum includes members of both sexes who owns either the sedated Swift or the masculine Swift Sport, I had to incorporate both cars into the design. I also have to be careful not to "bengise" the whole design that stereotype Swift owners as chiogsters, who I combined the relaxed lifestyle of the Swift and the "need of speed" philosophy of the Swift Sport.

The shirt is excepted and when into production. Though I heard some of the Swift Sport owners found it too "cartoonish". They even designed their own Tee shirts with the oversized HKS logo at the back plus those samurai japanese words in the front, a typical "fierce" polo tees....

Oh well, as long as it satisfy their testosterone I really don't care. At least most of the general mainstream Swifters liked it.

TMNT imitation - I found my first Pixel Art!!

Tools
Using the mouse via Paintbrush of Windows 3.0 on my puny Intel 80386DX 33Mhz desktop with whooping 4MB RAM!!

About
"Teen Trained Tactical Tortoises" still actually my imitation of Kelvin Eastman's & Peter Laird's famous "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" franchise. It's supposed to be a darker and grittier version of the childish cartoon series. But alas I was young then and have no idea the comics were already very dark. Due to the childish nature of my imitated storyline, I try to forget that I ever thought them out.

I'll consider this as a tribute and fanart for TMNT.

eXpressions
MY FIRST PIXEL ART!!! Done in one of my sessions in Windows 3.0 where I discover their paintbrush software. I actually zoomed and planted the pixel 1 by 1 to form the artwork. Of course, I used my observations from the graphics of PC games so I roughly knew some of the tricks like different color tones to give windows the 3D effect.

During that time (between 1991 to 1994) paintbrush is like damn powerful already and comes bundled with Windows 3.0 running in just 640x480 resolution. And yes that time the artwork is almost fullscreen.

Due to the pixel nature of the artwork, I saved the artwork in lossless GIF format to preserve the pixels it's originally intended. JPEG tended to messed up pixels due to compression. Do zoom in to see the details :)

About
The four buddies with their average machines caused quite a stir in the Singapore underground racing scene with their countless victories against cars and teams much more powerful than them.

Is this where skills of the driver matters the most?

eXpressions
Partly influenced by watching too much Initial D animes, playing Gran Turismo 4 and by my love for cars. My mind thought of a more realistic version of Initial D in Singapore context.

The story starts from a normal guy who get to own the one and only Limited edition Toyota Vios Turbo paralled imported from Thailand. There he was pitted against only raging machine only to surprise opponents with his sleeper cars.

Of course the rest story I thought out deals with more realistic issues of racing, including crashes, police chases and of course, ERP. Maybe I'll do the comic someday. But it's confirmed NOT LTA APPROVED. LOLz

This artwork took almost a day to complete, was done Jan 2010. It is my latest artwork.

Transformers Bumblebee Sport

Tools
Hasty speed-inked, Scanned and digitally speed-painted. Background and Swift Sport picture sourced online.

About
One of my favorite Transformers character (old-school Bumblebee) transforms into one of my favorite Car (Suzuki Swift Sport)

eXpressions
This is done in 2007 during the onset of the Transformers movie. It was the time where everyone is hyped up by the movie. I did this quick art with the intention to use it as my signature in the Swift Club Singapore forum but apparently the image is too big for a Signature.

This explain why I didn't do a proper inking and color in hasty, cos my initial plan is for the artwork be as small as possible....Oh well.

This Bumblebee's design is based on the rejected VW Bumblebee from the Binaltech/Alternators toyline. I figured why not replace the VW Beetle's classis with the Swift Sport. And voila, Bumblebee Sport!!

The Suzuki Swift Sport is one of my favorite car, it's an affordable hot hatch with a 1.6litre high reving 125horsepower engine mated with close gear ratios. With 0-100km/h in 8.9sec, it's not a pushover despite it's size. A car destined to be a Bumblebee alt mode. That destiny finally is fulfilled in the Alternity toyline in 2009.....but I still prefer my design.

"Bumblebee", "Transformers" and mentioned are property of Hasbro Inc and Takara/Tomy Co. Ltd
"Suzuki Swift Sport" is copyright of Suzuki Motors Co Ltd.
background was googled from the internet, copyright of it's respective owner.

S.O.V - Lingere edition

Tools
Pencils only

About
The S.O.V. Team poses only in their bra and panty!

eXpressions
S.O.V. (was called "Sisters of Vengeance" initially...*shrudders*) is one of my earliest creations. About a group of 3 female bounty hunters in a troubled future. Though it may sound cliche but hell I created S.O.V back in School 1995. It was a cool idea then.

During 1995, my drawing skill is at in infancy, the S.O.V. characters I drew then were simpler and less refine. It was great fun drawing them again in 2007, especially without their full gears and weapons and only in their underwears.

Meet Magdelene(left), Omega(middle) and Sigma(right). Don't worry, you'll get to see more of them in their full gears soon enough!

Allison of cutepet.org

Tools
Drawn, Scanned at 200DPI, Digitally painted with Photoshop 6.0 with Wacom Graphire

About
Fan Art of Allison from cutepet.org

eXpressions
Cutepet is one of the earliest Adult Hentai("Pervert" in Japanese) Website in the internet founded in 1999. It was one of my bookmarks even though it was a porn site. I had respect for any cartoon that uses it's own style and originality.

"Allison" was one of their Hentai characters and I find her innocent yet playful looks unique. I did a more decent version of Allison as a "gift art" for the website and had my artwork featured on their site for a short while.

Last check I'm surprise they are still around!! A real feat for a 11 year old site where many others have already closed down. For those curious about cutepet.org, it's a cartoon/anime porn site. Enter at your own risk.

"Allison" character is copyright of Studio Cute of cutepet.org.

BreadTalk Girl - my style

Tools
Pencil Drawn

About
The girl in BreadTalk outfit serving all the nice "buns"...hehe

eXpressions
I forgot when this was done, 2002 I think before I met my wife. Perhaps I was having a fetish for uniformed girls that time, cos I have no idea why I drew a BreadTalk girl. But I remembered that some thoughts of setting up a website full of Stereotypical girls in Singapore. Of course the website didn't make it.

The uniform is the old school BreadTalk uniform. I understand they've already changed their uniform to a different design.

"BreadTalk" and it's logo is copyright and registered trademark of BreadTalk Group Limited

About
Gift Tags for my colleagues during Christmas 2004

eXpressions
It was Christmas in 2004 and as a yearly practice, I'll buy little presents for my colleagues. With some ideas I decided to draw and personalise my gift tags to my colleagues.

I love my gift tags so much I scanned them before pasting them to the presents.

I wonder how many of my colleagues still keeps their gift tag. I knew one is lost as the Colleague opened the present and throw the wrapper into the gift, totally ignoring my tag...bummer!

Lyss, a Fan Art

Tools
Drawn and inked, scanned at 300dpi. Digitally painted with Photoshop 6.0. Background digitally painted using Wacom Grahpire tablet in Photoshop 6.

About
Lyss, Light of the Forest. This is a fantasy character created by Soo AKA "Dethray". I borrow his character to do a rendition using my style.

eXpressions
As you can see, it's done in 2001 after my service for the army ended. I join a USA-based art forum and surprisingly met a few fellow Singaporean artists (Dominic"Madscuzzy" and Soo"Dethray"). Dethray allow me to redraw his "Lyss" character as a form of a "fanart".

This artwork is also my experimental work. I was initially not statified with the background, so one day I decided to get myself a Wacom Graphire Tablet. As I started experimenting the tablet, I drew a full scale forest of trees and woods from the tablet. I was so excited and happy with my result that I decied to used first drawing as the background for the "Lyss" character.

As you can see the background's abit blur, that is delibrate to create a background effect, the original forest is much sharper and clearer.

The "Lyss" character and design is copyright 2001 Soo AKA Dethray.

pocus's Toy Gun

Tools
Drawn and inked, scanned at 100dpi in B/W mode. Digitally painted with MSpaint

About
pocus' Toy Gun for my 1st WebPage facelift.

eXpressions
This is done back in Polytechnic in 1996 even before i start using something called "Photoshop". During that time I always wanted to mimic those comic posters there the colors are so rich and the distinct tone shading that can only be associated with Japanese comic art.

I only use photoshop for webpage renders and haven't discovered layers, I stick to the old MSpaint to do digital painting using the mouse. It was hardwork and the work became grainy at the edges full of aliasing.

But looking back this is what make this digital art so retro...

Colt Turbo Forum Decal

Tools
Digitally mouse drawn and colored in Photoshop 6, vectorize using online vector convertors.

About
The Official Rear Window decal (vinyl sticker) of Colt Turbo Forum Singapore (CTFSG).

eXpressions
CTFSG is a local forum founded by a group of Colt Version R owners. It was a close-door forum with members that own at least one of the Colt Variants.

I was "arrowed" in late 2009 to help designed a decal for the forum. Of course the numbering decal was patented and pioneered by the Fit Jazz Club (FJC) but with links from one of the founders of FJC who happened to switch to the colt, we got their blessings to go ahead.

I did many designs, but this one made it to print. So if you see a Colt with a CTF no.99 sticker, do give me a wave.

pocus bored

Tools
Pencil drawn, 300dpi scan raw without editing.

About
As her rested, she pondered the times when life was simple and good.

eXpressions
A mid 2008 attempt to re-design pocus and to brush up my long rusted drawing.... As you can see, it qualifies for failblog. I still can't believe I forgot about her boobs. Posting this make me feel like re-attempting to draw her again.

Who is "pocus"

Tools
Pencil drawn, 300dpi scan raw without editing.

About
"pocus" in it's more mature incarnation.

eXpressions
Done in 2000, this is one my attempts to draw a more serious and realistic looking character instead of the typical Japanese anime styles I was attempting to copy in the mid 90s.

As for this character, it's one of my first comic character. She goes by the name of "pocus" as a circus performer turned assassin. Long story just right for a comic! "pocus" became sort of my trademark as my internet identity goes by the nick "pocus" in many of the forums I frequent. In fact "pocus" is my first internet account's user ID!

My Version R

Tools
Pencil drawn, Inked with Sakura soft-nips, 300dpi scan, speed colored in Photoshop 6.0 with Wacom Graphire 3

About
My Mitsubishi Colt Ralliart Version R in it's cutest form. At 154 horsepower and 0-100km/h in 8 seconds, it's one of the fastest 1.5l car in Singapore. A properly tuned Colt Ralliart eats RX8s for breakfast and I'm very proud to own one.

eXpressions
Done in August 2009, my attempt to do a cartoon version of my car. Initially I was inspired of "Cars" and even added eyes and a mouth, but GOD it's too kiddy for me so I re-edited. This one appears as one of our couple shirts.

"Colt Ralliart Version R" Logo and likness are properties of Mitsubishi Motors Co Ltd.

Haylcon: Reloaded

Tools

About
The Halcyon Quest gets a reload. Meet the runic conjuror, the civilian medic and the guerilla soldier.

Heian Looks back

Tools
Scanned at 300dpi, Scaled with Photoshop 6.0, Raw unedited sketch

About
As she looked back, she realize that life will never be the same again.

eXpressions
I forgot when I did this work, should be around 2004, but it's an attempt redraw a similar pose I did during 1999 on the same character. This character, tentatively called "Hei An" ("Peace" or "Tranquility" in Japanese) was the result of a major influence from reading Shirow Masamune's comics and Luis Royo's III Millennium artbook during NS times.

Blue Sky

Tools
Scanned at 300dpi, Scaled and enhanced variations with Photoshop 6.0

About
There she ponders as she looked up the blue sky. Little does she realise the tough times that lay ahead of her.

eXpressions
This is a old work dated 2002. Although I didn't take much effort on this, it's still one of my favorites till now. I drew this when I was still in Brisbane doing my degree. Like before I had the story well thought up in my mind. It was inspired since my NS days.

Migration from old blog

I use to have an old blog, created during the times I'm feeling low. Looks like eveytime I'm feeling low I start creating blogs.... But I hope this can last longer than my facebook account.

A few picture from the old blog to migrate. Stay tuned!

Title image UP...

Tools
Digitally drawn in Photoshop 6.0

About
Ok! I've done it. The title image is finally up.

eXpressions
Just a quick lineart from PS6. Simple but good enough for now. Maybe as I expand and have more ideas I'd do a more spectacular one. Now to think of a watermark for my images.

The first is always the hardest.

This is NOT my 1st blog but I hope to stay longer here compared to my other blogs in the past.

This blog is spawned from the depths of my desire, my passion. That is to draw and to tell you a hell of a story through the drawings. The alternative path I might take should I choose my passion instead of the IT industry.

But as of now. I've got no full scanner access as I do not have my own room. It can be frustrating at times but I hope to cope with all this.

So no pictures at the moment. Heck I can't even give the title screen a makeover.

Stay tuned for more stuff.
