About
Transformers Optimus Prime and Megatron Rompers

Year
Aug 2013

eXpressions
As known, I'm a huge fan of Transformers! Not the Michael Bay movie version but the G1 version we all loved when we were young.

As a new father, how can I not dress up my kid with Transformers stuff? I did online and retail shopping and sadly, I couldn't find any transformers clothes for infants. So I decided to designed my own.

I was influence by IDW's comic designs and G1's cartoon design, so I fused them to together to create a hybrid style Optimus and Megatron.

But unfortunately I couldn't get it to print as Transformers characters are registered trademarks and the cloths printer refuse to print my stuff due to copyright reasons.

Oh well, so much for a Transformers fan.

About
Comparing taking care of a infant kid versus Military Service

Year
Jul 2013

eXpressions
Taking care of my kid and doing night duties has taking a toll on me. All this fatique reminds me of my time in military service 10 years ago. The only difference is I was in my prime when I was serving, now I'm lacking behind in terms of physical and mental fitness.

Cleaning the bottles are stuff and akin to cleaning my rifle during night training. This comical strip is to highlight my point.

Delicated to all Fathers who served in the military...

About
Crazy Tank designs for Facebook Military sketch group

Year
Jun 2013

eXpressions
Someone had a crazy idea on the military sketch group I frequent in facebook: To design and create the more ridiculous and craziest battle tank I can think of.

I came up a few during my night duties with my 1 month old kid. Seems like the more stressed and tired you are, the crazier you get.

Here are some of my hastily drawn creation. I apologize for the lack of refinement as I'm like most dead from taking care of my forever crying infant at night. -_-"

About
Trailers for my upcoming Web Picture book "Diary Eschaton"
Year
Between Feb - May 2013
eXpressions
As I'm close to completing my year-long Web picturebook, I made quick trailers/teasers to post on facebook and more to motivate myself to complete this project.

This project was conceived after I discovered my wife's pregnancy. I decided to give it all I've got to complete a project as I predict I will not have time to casually draw stuff after my kid arrived.

Unfortunately, my kids decided to come out of this world before I can complete my project. Hence this project is delayed up to 6 months.

Currently I'm at the final stages of completion.  Around 70%. I hope to release this web picturebook by November 2013

Fairlady with her pet snake to usher 2013

Tools
Traditional pencils, scanned and colored in Photoshop CS5 with Wacom Intuos 4 tablet.

About
The fair Celestal Maiden travel with her flying giant pet snake to usher the new year of the snake.

Year
Feb 2013

eXpressions
This art piece is create as a greeting "card" for my friends in Facebook and my neighbours. Although not much effort was put into the design of the Maiden, it's still my first attempted to draw a classical chinese maiden with ancient "wuxia" Attire. I've "modernized" it to give her a more femine and "sexier" appeal.

Due to Work commitments and time constraints I was not able ink it and touchup the picture the way I wanted. But it's still looks okay.

I was told that if maidens where dressed like during ancient times in China, they would be considered as whores.... I guess that's why I'm not into drawing classic chinese "wuxia" archetype characters.

The background was googled from the internet. Copyright goes to it's respective owner(s).

I was cracking my brains on what to draw for my Facebook christmas greetings.

Then I remember the Corgi character I'm doing to my upcoming picture book project so I decided to doodle him again as a form of training and as my Christmas greeting for all in 2012.

Untitled Lonely Character

Tools
Traditional doodling/sketching

About
As she stop and rested, she ponders on the long and lonely stretch of road may eventually lead to another deadend

Year
October 2012

eXpressions
I was just doodling and trying to break out my artist's block when I doodled her. An ordinary post-apocalytic girl archetype. I haven't give much thought on her characterization at first but decided to use she as a practice for my skills in later artworks.

I aim to make her a simple yet appealing character that drawn attention from the people who sees her. I also aim to make she more relatable to Singaporeans.

She will be a testbed for my own experiments in comic drawing, to honed on my fundamentally and go back to basic.

Stay tune for more artworks on her...

Cheer on! 24hr Comic Day (Singapore) Participants!

Tools
Hastily pen drawn. Some background inked with tablet.

About
To cheered on and show my support for the participants of the 24 Hours Comic Day Singapore 2012.

Year
October 2012

eXpressions
As I was getting live feed via Facebook on the event, I was pretty riled up and regretted not able to join, thanks to my client's "Disaster Recovery exercise" which falls on a weekend.

So to feel the rush, I did a simple 2 page comic to be posted in their official Facebook page to cheer on the folks who have around 8 more hours to go.

Hope to join the event next year.
